“My scene was not specifically this or that, but more consistent of shaking the hands with the devil...The devil held me in his clutches, the enemy was behind me...”

- Demian by Hermann Hesse.

Boy Meets Evil is a video connected to the entire concept of the album Wings released in 2016 by BTS. JHope is the member that presents this video and is the only one singing. The setting of these videos can represent the theory that the boys are in purgatory which Roman Catholics believe is the final stage to become pure from their sins they did in the mortal world, further proving that there are allusions to the Bible.

The scene of the video is a dark, closed off underground. This type of setting can represent how JHope is stuck in the spiritual state of purgatory. A constant theme in this song is greed, wrath, and gluttony. A lyric that supports this point is when JHope sings,"I didn't think that the greed would become a horn calling upon hell BREATHE" and holds on to his neck. This neck grabbing motion is him showing that he is sensitive and going through a type of punishment for his sin of being so greedy. He knows that he committed a sin because he sings, "But to be freed from this sin, I cannot give up forgetting it because those lips were too sweet" Another theory people have about this video is that the video is about intoxication. A lyric that they often use to back up this theory is, "I was a fool addicted to your sweetness. Too bad but it's too sweet.."So it seems like this song relates back to the other songs and who JHope was before. Wrath ties into him being self-destructive.

In other videos he is seen as a narcoleptic person who turns to drugs to deal with his problems. When Jin dies, he turns to the same drugs to kill himself so in purgatory he repents for his sins and realizes that he was in the "hands of the devil" while taking those pills he called too sweet. This relates back to the theory that you shouldn't stop living when your friends die. People always die and life moves on but BTS decide to die together and this is the price they have to pay for their sins.

Wings show up behind JHope and the other boys in the other Wings intro video.
